ABOUT US

UNEOIF journey started 2015; and we’ve stayed focused on our mission to help the less privileged, and very much committed to playing the part, as this was a vision from God, of which we are prepared to be the tool in which He uses to accomplish this. Through UNEOIF, people will find meaning to what seems to be a meaningless living/life. BY HIS GRACE.

The Foundation is born to help fight against suffering of the less privileged in the community and the society as a whole, those overlooked by omission or commission.

OUR CAUSES/PROGRAMMES

TRADING

In its 1st year of operation, UNEOIF financially empowered 8 women in the community towards either sustaining their small trading or starting one…by doing this we helped them avoid borrowing money or taking credit they would have had to pay back from their small profits, now they can use all their profit to cater for their families.

APPRENTICESHIP

UNEOIF understands the importance of youth empowerment, to play our part we have offered apprenticeship opportunities to our community youth to enable them learn practical trades which can help them secure employment and have better future for themselves and their families. Our apprenticeship opportunities have included paying for full apprenticeships with organisations/companies within the community such as Car Mechanic workshops, Window fitting companies, Plumbing, Tailoring, Catering etc.

EDUCATION

UNEOIF has ensured that children from poor families do not miss out on taking their WAEC (West African Exam Certificate) examinations, by paying the examination fees for them. Some of the children chosen for whose WAEC fees were paid included an orphan who was taking care of his bed ridden grandmother and those whose mothers were struggling with their petty trading income and had to prioritise food over education. UNEOIF has attended several schools to supply the less privileged children with well needed books/pens/pencils etc.

BUSINESS TRAINING

UNEOIF engaged a professional business training coach to facilitate a 2-day intensive business course for both women and men who were already in small trading and for those who wish to go into small trading. The purpose of this is to enable small traders gain better understanding of what it entails to be a small trader, create and maintain a progressive business plan in terms of money management.

YEARLY CHRISTMAS EVENTS

Each year, UNEOIF likes to perform an open community charity event. This can range from a Clothes Fair, Food Fair or a Give Away event. We have continued these events since the first year of our operation, whilst still maintaining and being on top of all our other key programmes. For our Christmas events, we start organising very early on in the year, we liaise with local community organisations such as churches and elders who guide us to ascertain which area of the community will benefit most from our programme for that year. The ability to gain new clothes, free food and gifts makes the Christmas period more exciting for those in the community who do not have much else to look forward to.

GOVERNMENT TRAINING SCHEMES

UNEOIF is not only on top of what is happening within our community, but we also have very close eyes and ears on Government initiatives. We want to make sure our beneficiaries are privy to all trainings being offered by the government and we will support them to access these. Our most recent government training support was paying for some indigenes women to attend the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development Skills Acquisition in Fashion design, Catering, Hair dressing, Soap making and more.
